Enjoy Beauty of Tropical Plants, Even In Colder Climates
Maintaining a garden provides many benefits: exercise, fresh air, flowers (or food) for your table and more. If you live in a non-tropical climate like I do, you may think you can't grow beautiful tropical plants in your garden. Well, my dad, who's a masterful gardener, showed me that you can. I fell in love with two pink oleanders and bought them for my garden. Only later did Dad tell me my grandmother also kept oleanders! He showed me how to drill holes in the bottom of the pots and plant them in my garden, still in the pots. I'll remove them in late fall, then re-plant them in spring!
