Home Is Their Haven: Be Kids' Safe Place No Matter What
Home is our kids' haven. It's the place where they should always feel safe, no matter how hard the outside world is. School, sports, extracurriculars, social situations, bullying (online and off), etc., can all pose challenges for kids. They need to know when they're home, with family or even with a pet, they are safe, not being judged and can truly be themselves. They need to feel unconditionally loved and accepted for who they are. That way, when the world seems to be crashing down around them (and there will be those days!), they'll find refuge at home, and hopefully not elsewhere.
