Dyed Foods May Cause Behavior Issues in Kids

Dyed cupcakes, sports drinks, lollipops and soda: These foods are great eye candy because of the bright colors and fancy packaging, but they don’t have any real nutritional value. Innately, humans crave or desire colorful foods because in nature, all of the colors are so bright and vibrant. Recently, The Center for Science in the Public Interest called on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ban eight artificial colorings (Yellow 5, Red 40, Blue 1, Blue 2, Green 3, Orange B, Red 3 and Yellow 6) in food because the additives may cause hyperactivity and behavioral issues in some children.
