Low-Tech Ways to Keep Kids Happy: The Coin Flip

Our family likes to eat out, but we don't like our kids zoning out on smartphones while we wait for food. We find fun ways to share quality time and secretly pass on useful skills to our three boys. The first activity is the Coin Flip. We don't need toys or tech, just a coin purse, pencil and paper! We give each boy a penny and ask them to guess if there will be more heads or tails. We teach them how to flip it - carefully - and mark down heads or tails. This activity can last a long time and teaches patience, probability and coin-control (fine motor skills)!
